Cheyenne SRA is the perfect stopover for travelers seeking a peaceful overnight stay just off Interstate 80 at the Wood River Exit 300. While small and simple, this area offers essential amenities and a relaxing atmosphere for those passing through Nebraska.

Whether you're traveling cross-country or exploring Nebraska, Cheyenne SRA offers a comfortable and scenic place to rest, recharge, and enjoy a bit of the outdoors.

The campground includes 21 electrical campsites with 50-amp service—two of which are ADA-accessible—plus two non-electric tent sites for a more traditional camping experience. Visitors will appreciate modern conveniences such as restrooms, a fresh water-fill hydrant, vault toilet, and a boat ramp for quick access to the water.

Cheyenne SRA is extremely well-positioned for crane enthusiasts. Just 5 miles to the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center at Alda — ideal for quick access to viewing blinds and visitor resources and within 20–25 minutes — about 15–20 miles — to the Rowe Sanctuary's Audubon Center, one of the most significant crane viewing areas in the central Platte Valley.

This makes Cheyenne SRA a smart and peaceful overnight stop for birders during migration season, offering easy day access to both major crane observation sites.

Cheyenne State Recreation Area is just northwest of Sidney, Nebraska. From I-80, take Exit 59 and head north on Highway 19 for 1.5 miles, then turn west on Road 113 and follow signs. Visitors coming from the north via Hwy 385 or from the south via Hwy 19 can also connect to Road 113 west of Sidney to reach the park.
